Is a Retina version of Adobe Photoshop CS6 coming in December?

Did Adobe just let slip that a Retina version of Photoshop CS6 is on the way?

Adobe recently released a teaser video for its upcoming Create Now Live event on December 11. But one thing in particular caught our eye. It seems the company may be releasing Photoshop CS6 for Retina screens.

In the video, it appears that Photoshop is running on a MacBook. Many blogs, including Japanese site, Macotakara, think that the computer in the video is a 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro. While these rumors have yet to be confirmed, it makes sense that Adobe would be releasing Photoshop and CS6 software optimized for Retina MacBooks.

Back in August, Adobe announced that it would make Photoshop and other CS6 products compatible with Apple’s Retina screen, which is one of the highest resolution screens available. Adobe also said that it would be releasing the updated programs this fall.

While the 15-inch Apple MacBook Pro with Retina has been available for some time, Apple just recently announced the 13-inch version during its iPad Mini event in October. Perhaps Adobe was waiting for Apple to release the 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro before it released any updated software that would be compatible with the technology.

It also makes sense that Adobe will be releasing a Retina version for its most popular products, since it already released a Retina-compatible version for its Lightroom software earlier this month.

You can watch the 43-second clip below. Adobe will introduce new products at its Create Now Live event on December 11 at 10 a.m. PST, which you can watch live on YouTube. If you want to attend the virtual event, you can sign up on Adobe’s registration page.

Do you think Adobe will update its Photoshop and other Creative Suite 5 products for Apple’s Retina screen? Let us know in the comments below.

Developer version of the Verizon Galaxy S3 already on backorder

Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3

The unlockable developer version of the Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3, which just went on sale yesterday, already is on backorder. That means it either was popular as hell, or there weren't all that many available in the first place.

Both the 16- and 32-gigabyte versions are no longer available. There's no telling for how long, but the good news is if you just can't wait, the retail version can be hacked open pretty easily.

Time Sync updated to version 1.1, stability issues addressed

Time Sync for Windows Phone

A short time ago, we took a quick look at the Windows Phone app Time Sync. Time Sync is a world time app that helps you keep track of the current time in various parts of the world. As more Windows Phone users began to give the time app a try, a few stability issues were identified that caused Time Sync to crash.

Time Sync's developer picked up on the issues, in part from your comments, and began working on an update that has recently passed certification. Version 1.1 takes care of the bugs that caused the app to crash. It also adds a City list reorder feature. This new feature allows you to sort the cities you monitor to your liking.

Time Sync

Now here's the catch. If you haven't had any issues with stability, the app will update just like any other app that is on your Windows Phone. If you have experienced issues with Time Sync crashing, you're going to have to reinstall Time Sync.  The instability, as we understand it, was caused on some Windows Phones having more or renamed time zones. When the app first runs it registers those time zones and when Time Sync didn't recognize these additional or renamed zones, it crashed.

Because that registration process has already taken place on devices that experienced the crashing (plus there's been some changes in how Time Sync calculates things), you need to start from scratch so all time zones are recognized.

Time Sync is a handy little app for keeping track of world times. It's always nice to see developers jump on issues and fix problems. If you haven't tried Time Sync, it's a free app that you can find here at the Windows Phone Store.

London Travel Live updated to version 4 with augmented reality and 50% off

London Travel Live

London Travel Live updated with augmented reality

London Travel Live is a useful app for those who either frequently roam London or are simply visiting for the day. Sporting useful features that guide users around the big smoke make it a requirement for anyone who doesn't wish to get lost. We last covered the app back in April when version 3.1 was released into the wild. Now we're back with news of 4.0 reaching Windows Phone owners.

The one feature that stands out in the changelog is augmented reality. This is functionality Nokia is implementing into its own navigation services, and it's good to see developers making the same leaps with their own apps. With the augmented reality experience, users will be able to pinpoint a station / location and ensure the correct transport link is reached.

So what else new in version 4.0?

Tube status live tile updated every 15 minutes.Tube status toast notifications.Oyster balance and season ticket details.Oyster card live tile.Integrated TFL Journey Planner.Bus routes and bus stop information.Pin your bus route or bus stop to the start.Bus departure boards.Barclays Cycle Hire information.Pin cycle stations to the start.Live traffic map.Live tube departure boards.Tube Station facilities.Tube map and line maps.Pin the tube map to the start for quick access.Find your nearest tube stations and bus stops. Most information available offline.Supports Dark and Light Metro themes.

It is indeed quite a hefty update. One that will please many users.

London Travel Live

We're impressed by the improvements applied to the app and believe London Travel Live is a must have for anyone thinking of using public transport in the capital. As an alternative, London Travel is also available for Windows Phone, which sports similar functionality.

You can download London Travel Live from the Marketplace for $0.99 (£0.79), which is currently half price so be sure to hurry if you wish to take advantage of the offer.

New version of 627.AM goes ad-free with Live Tile support

627.AM goes ad free for Windows Phones

627.AM is a popular daily assistant for your Windows Phone that helps you manage daily alarms, check in on the weather forecast and jot notes on daily tasks. Our initial impressions found 627.AM to be a simple, clever and gorgeous app. The original release had 627.AM being a free, ad supported app. If you liked the free version but didn't care for the banner ads, an updated, ad-free version hit the Marketplace recently.

Losing the ads will cost you a little but you will also get a few new features including a theme friendly Live Tile, refined navigation animations, and the alarm time on the main page will now pick up the right time format based on your Windows Phone settings.

627.AM

The ad free version of 627.AM (version 1.2) also contains the following fixes:

Fixed a memory issue to allow weather icons to play smoothlyFixed a bug to allow auto-copy to only happen once on the startup pageFixed a bug to allow the weather page refresh to pull data from the web service and not the cacheFixed date display on the weather page

For those who don't mind the ads there's no need to worry. The new features version 1.2 brings to the paid version of 627.AM will soon be released to the free version of 627.AM.

The paid, ad free version of 627.AM is currently running $1.49 and you can find it here at the Windows Phone Marketplace. The free, ad supported version of 627.AM can be snatched up here at the Marketplace.

Thanks, Justin, for the tip!

Football Pro updated to version 2.0, ready for the 2013 season

Football Pro 13 for Windows Phone

Are you ready, for some Football? Well are ya?

An update to Football Pro '12 (formerly known as NFL Pro '12) has been updated over at the Windows Phone Marketplace in preparation for the upcoming season. While the Marketplace title stills reflects the Football Pro '12 name, the version 2.0 update takes the app to Football Pro '13.

Confused? So were we but apparently it takes a while before the Marketplace will reflect the name change for the app. What you're looking for is version 2.0. Once you run the Football Pro, you'll see things setup for the 2013 season within the app itself.  Even though the title is dated '12.

Along with all the stats, scores and standings from the season, here's a few of the features Football Pro '13 will offer.

Fantasy Playoff: Personalize your own fantasy playoff prediction and pick who is going to win the Super bowl this yearFavorite Team Tile: Follow your favorite team as a secondary live tile and gain easy access to your team’s pageLive Scores: Get the latest scores while the game is under wayLatest News and Roster: Check the latest news for every team and league wise, and get the full Roster with detailed information about all playersLatest Videos: Watch the latest podcasts about the National Football LeagueLive Sports Talk: Share your comments and knowledge with everybody on your team’s pagePlayer Tweets: Follow your favorite NFL player tweets right on the appLive Radio: When you're on the go you can listen to the live game via our Football Pro ’13 Radio

As with the previous version, Football Pro '13 lays everything out nicely. The app utilizes the Modern UI Design with your central pages covering your profile, live scores, standings, and teams separated by division. If you're looking for a one stop source for the NFL season, Football Pro '13 is worth a look.

Football Pro '13 is a free, ad supported app for your Windows Phone. You can find it here at the Windows Phone Marketplace. Remember, we are told it may take a while before the title changes on the Marketplace. What you are looking for is Version 2.0.

Thanks, Luis and Kay, for the tip!
